Mobius Rising Chapter 89

Rouge flops down face first on her bed.  All of the guilt over the events of the last few weeks was starting to become too much for her to bear.  Every time she thought that she was beginning to feel a little less guilty for something she had said or done... she would end up doing something equally bad once more.  She kept replaying the look of hurt that had crossed Shadow's face when she blurted out her true feelings about their clones.  She had been so stupid... if only she had thought more about her words before she had spoken.

It was clear from Shadow's expression and his abrupt exit from the control room that Shadow wasn't as displeased with having hybrid clones as she was.  At least that was how she saw it.  But the more she thought about it she began to think that perhaps he had been more offended because she had inadvertantly insulted his genetic background with her slurs about the clones.

Rouge rolls onto her back with a heavy sigh.  Everything had gone so very wrong lately.  She began to wonder if it was a wise idea to stay with the Freedom Fighters now that the threat from Dr. Robotnik's clone army was over.  She knew in her heart that certain people would be quite happy to see her go.
