Mobius Rising Chapter 42

It took Bunnie some time to locate Sonic to tell him the news about Shadow.  It would seem that since confessing that he didn't mind if Amy became more than a freind, the blue blur had returned to his old habits of staying as far out of Amy's reach as possible.  Bunnie completely understood... Amy could be a bit scary at times with her affection for Sonic.  As Bunnie heads down yet another hallway calling Sonic's name, she hears the sound of Sonic approaching her.  She stops walking and turns to face Sonic as he skids to a halt.

"You rang, Bunnie?"  Sonic asked.

"I'm gonna have to give you a communicator or something so that when I need to call you I can just buzz you... this yelling is getting a bit old, Sugah."  Bunnie says and puts her hands on her hips, "I've been looking for you for an hour... where the heck have you been?"

"Here and there.  You know how it is.  So what's up?"

"Shadow's awake."  Bunnie says, "But I'm afraid that I was right about there being brain damage..."

Sonic's smile falters, "How bad is it?  He's not a vegetable is he?"

"No no... it's not that bad.  He's just lost his memory again."  

"Oh goody," Sonic says and rolls his eyes, "How far back did he lose it this time?  I don't feel like having to dodge his chaos blasts again."

"We're not sure the full extent of it but it looks like he's roughly lost four weeks.  I actually was coming to find you so that you didn't accidently go into Knuckles' room  until we establish if he recognizes you as friendly or not." Bunnie says, "He remembers Knuckles and me... but well he's never tried to kill either of us before."

"He's tried to kill Knuckles... but then again it was because he was trying to kill me and Knuckles tried to stop him... " Sonic scratches at his head, "Okay well I'll just keep away till you tell me it's safe.  Even if he doesn't try to blast me I'm sure just seeing me would get his blood pressure up."

"Probably.  I'm glad you understand, Sonic."

"No problem," Sonic says and glances at his watch, "Shoot... I only have a few hours left till my date... I should probably go start getting ready."

Bunnie smiles, "So you're really going through with it?  I'm proud of you sonic.  I never thought that you'd actually concede to dating anyone."

"That makes two of us," Sonic says and speeds off down the hallway.

Bunnie shakes her head with a smile as the dust from Sonic's speedy exit settles, "I guess everyone has to grow up sometime."
